    We have a small (man-built) pond in our backyard that is broken and doesn't hold water. I used to refill it every week, but that's 350 gallons, so I've decided to leave it empty and if/when we resell turn it into a zero-scaped yard feature that doesn't require water. Any ideas or suggestions for that type of thing are more than welcome!

    I didn't do so well yesterday for staying strong and only purchasing things I need vs what I want. I need to block my Amazon Prime early deals notifications.

    How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    Creativity comes into play for me especially right now when trying to keep my obsession for Halloween decorations in check. I want to buy every one I see advertised, but I made a goal awhile back to never exceed 1 bin for holiday decorations. Admittedly, I am not very crafty, but I can get creative with the decorations I already own so that I hold to my promise. I can also creatively stay away from adverts that I know will tempt me. Trying not to acquire more stuff that I don't need is a daily struggle.

    With a partner who works for Feeding America, food waste is a hot topic in our household. It's not surprising at all to me how much food is thrown out per year, and even with the knowledge my partner and I have, we still find ourselves struggling with excess food waste and know our solution involves meal planning and sticking to it. We would much rather be using that wasted money on traveling!

    Excited to kick the challenge off today! This month is going to fly by, so I had a hard time narrowing down my actions to what I can realistically do. But I am inspired and looking forward to the impacts our CLEAResult team members will make!
