Janina's actions
Cultivating Communities
Drive Less
Each day, I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Balancing Consumption
Reduce Social Media Use
I will use my social media only once per day.
Balancing Consumption
Less Screen Time
I will replace 60 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.
Nourishing Food
Donate Food
I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.
Regenerating Nature
Complete an Energy Audit
I will complete an online energy audit of my home, work, or other shared space to identify the next steps for saving energy.
Regenerating Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 20 minute(s) per day typically spent inside and often with electronics with quality time outside walking, exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, observing nature, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Balancing Consumption
Repair a Broken Item
I will repair at least one item that is broken, but is repairable. This might be items like garden tools, sewing machine, small appliances, electronics, clothing, and more.
Nourishing Food
Weekly Meal Planning
I will reduce food waste, excess carbon and save money by planning my daily and weekly menus so that I only purchase the ingredients needed.

Janina Ibarra 10/25/2022 4:48 AMIt's nice that when you do your daily check-ins, you realize later on that it actually becomes a good habit as you do the actions everyday and creates a big impact to our lives and the community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Less Screen TimeWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Janina Ibarra 10/06/2022 6:30 AMIn my personal experience when I feel that I have spent too much screen time already, I strain my eyes and just felt so tired afterwards. With this I realize that when you spend too much time on screens you don't get to do physical wellness activities or just simply move around. It's really helpful when you really stay away from screen, from your phone, from your laptop. Sometimes it would affect your health and your relationship with others as you become unsociable. I think discipline and having your own limitations will help.-
