REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Support Local PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
Hanorah Lucas 10/26/2022 2:36 PMIt is important to take care of local pollinators because maintaining healthy plant life encourages biodiversity -
Hanorah Lucas 10/26/2022 9:31 AMThe ecochallenge reminds me to consider my personal impact. Despite only being one person, my actions can encourage others to also take the leap and be more eco-friendly. -
Hanorah Lucas 10/25/2022 2:33 PMI feel that the ecochallenge is going well this year! I have become far more aware of my impact. I think this is a really fun way to stay involved on campus as well as to educate yourself on environmentalism and sustainability. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Volunteer in My CommunityWhat event did you volunteer for and what was the experience like for you?
Hanorah Lucas 10/25/2022 2:30 PMI assisted in collecting garbage off of the side of the road in a small group. This was enlightening for me, as a lot of the people who showed up are not people I would have expected to partake in the activity. It is wonderful to see such a diverse community of environmentalists

REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Donate FoodWhy do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?
Hanorah Lucas 10/25/2022 2:29 PMI donate food because I understand what it is like to be financially unable to have equal access to food. It is important to me to ensure that people are fed, happy, and healthy. Donating food is one of the few ways I can contribute -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Know My Waste & Recycling ServicesWhat did you find surprising or hopeful in your research?
Hanorah Lucas 10/25/2022 2:28 PMI found it surprising that information was accessible--sometimes I forget consider that we have more access than we think. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Forest-Friendly FoodsHow did you figure out ways to remove foods that are not forest-friendly?
Hanorah Lucas 10/12/2022 4:27 PMI did research on foods that may have negative impacts on the environment chemically. I also took note of foods/products that do not compost well--which makes them unnecessary waste! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnacting Equity Shop at BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Disabled, & Women-Led Businesses! In your community, how can you work to address systemic racism, sexism, ableism and additional forms of exclusion in the businesses?
Hanorah Lucas 10/12/2022 4:26 PMSupporting businesses that I know are run by people who are considered minorities allows for me to ensure that I am not supporting biases against humankind. It is important to be educated on companies and what they support so that you can make sure your money is going to something you believe in! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption What is Sustainable Fashion? How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Hanorah Lucas 10/12/2022 4:25 PMIf you are in need of something in your wardrobe, buying something secondhand is ideal! If you are just bored with your closet, you can attend a clothing swap to find new pieces while parting with things you no longer wear. It is also a great idea to get creative! Cropping pants, shirts, buying fabric paint, hand-making jewelry out of random materials in your house, or doing a good old-fashioned tie-dye session on your things allows for so much change to be made in your closet without having to expand it or support fast fashion! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Repair a Broken ItemWhat did you fix and how did it go? Share a few pics if you can!
Hanorah Lucas 10/05/2022 4:02 PMI repaired several clothing items that I have been shoving off for a while. The pockets were falling off at the seams of a few of my jackets, and I had a few tears in items I frequently wear. It went well! I took this time to also crop a bunch of my jeans that were too long in order to get more use out of them!
