During the work day, I will schedule time for breaks to practice work-life balance.
Balancing Consumption
Less Screen Time
I will replace 30 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.
Nourishing Food

I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.
Regenerating Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 60 minute(s) per day typically spent inside and often with electronics with quality time outside walking, exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, observing nature, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Regenerating Nature
Take Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute or less showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.

Lori Lundberg 10/10/2022 8:20 AMI am going to put a daily reminder on my Outlook calendar to check my ecochallenge every morning because otherwise my day gets too busy. I could use the reminder of what I want to try to do better that day too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Donate FoodWhy do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?
Lori Lundberg 10/10/2022 8:18 AMDonating this time of year is easy because all of the grocery stores have the food bank bags at check out. It is our responsibility to take care of each other. If we are blessed, we have to lift others up that might need help because that will be us at one point or another in our lives. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Take Shorter ShowersWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Spend Time OutsideWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Lori Lundberg 10/10/2022 8:16 AMIf you spend most of your time inside, you miss all of the truly good things in life. Everything good is in nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Less Screen TimeWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Lori Lundberg 10/10/2022 8:15 AMLess screen time = happier, healthier people that are actually living their lives instead of watching others live theirs on a screen. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Develop a Work-Life BalanceHow does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?
Lori Lundberg 10/10/2022 8:14 AMI feel that striving for work life balance is necessary for health and overall well being. If you have more balance within, you are able to help create more balance in others and in the world not only by example but because you feel so much better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Reduce Social Media UseSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Lori Lundberg 10/10/2022 8:12 AMI'm happier when not on social media because I find myself comparing my life to others and all that they are doing. In reality, their life is probably just like mine and they only post when they do something like a trip that they probably planned and saved up for. Social media makes it seem like people are always off doing something terrific and being someone fabulous but it is all engineered to seem that way. I like social media to keep track of family and friends that I dont see often though.
