  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nourishing Food Advocate for Equitable Food Access
What changes would help food insecure regions have access to local, seasonal foods? How can your choices contribute to these changes?

    Muhammad Nazif's avatar
    Muhammad Nazif 10/23/2022 7:01 AM
In many rural areas, access to healthy foods may be limited because of transportation challenges or distances to get to healthy food options. In addition, in some communities, there may be stigma about programs that address food insecurity or a lack of awareness about their availability. Finding sustainable strategies is important when considering new programs or improvements to local food systems.

Balancing Consumption Calculate My Carbon Footprint
What is one way you will reduce your carbon impact? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon impact?

Cut usage of the most power-intensive appliance in your car. Running your air conditioning less frequently or raising the temperature so that your system does not work as hard will reduce your carbon footprint.

Recycling not only benefits the environment but also have a positive effect on the economy. Recycling is reported throughout human history but has come a long way since the time of Plato when humans reused broken tools and pottery when materials were scarce.

We need more concrete plans, more ambition from more countries and more businesses. We need all financial institutions, public and private, to choose, once and for all, the green economy

onating to local food banks or other food charities shows that you really do care about creating a better standard of living for the community. It shows that you’re conscious of the issues facing many individuals and families in the world today, and that you’re taking active steps to do your part.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nourishing Food Forest-Friendly Foods
How did you figure out ways to remove foods that are not forest-friendly?

    Muhammad Nazif's avatar
    Muhammad Nazif 10/20/2022 11:05 PM
One of the best ways to preserve forests--and the animals that make them their home-- is to reduce the demand for unnecessary wood products. There are many simple ways you can reduce your own consumption of wood products at home, school or work by using alternative products.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nourishing Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

    Muhammad Nazif's avatar
    Muhammad Nazif 10/20/2022 11:04 PM
Global food insecurity is not due to not producing enough food, but rather poor distribution methods. With the number of calories generated by industrial agriculture, there is seemingly no reason anyone would go hungry.
