REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption What is Sustainable Fashion? How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Nadine Singh 10/18/2022 11:36 AMI find that purchasing pieces that are seasonal-less are easier to rework into my wardrobe regardless of the time of year. I'm drawn to a style that is more comfortable and lived in which I find more at second hand stores. With fashion trends being reused every few years, instead of only supporting fast fashion brands creating trendy throw away pieces I am able to find similar pieces at local thrift shops around the city. More and more my wardrobe is incorporating thrifted pieces from sweaters to purses giving them a second life.
Listening to the Podcast 'Style with Substance' I found it interesting that fast fashion brands that "help" recycle your clothing for a voucher isn't really doing much recycling waste. A large number of people are still throwing away unwanted clothing and item into the bin.
