We finished replacing our old gas furnace (no A/C) and gas water heater with a new geothermal heat pump + desuperheater and electric water heater + insulated tank. The field loop consists of 2 vertical 300-ft deep loops about 20 feet apart. Controlling everything is an EcoBee thermostat. The process was fascinating, the home is now comfortable and efficient, and perfect timing for the #ecochallenge.
