REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Emily Lesh 10/10/2024 8:01 AMBy creating this as my goal I have been able to notice when I am getting stressed and overwhelmed that a quick two-minute breathing/meditation helps me center my mindset, and begins to get me refocused on the task at hand.-
Charles Guice 10/10/2024 8:25 AMMyself, I think. In the sense that I need to appreciate what's happening in the moment, even if it's not the most exciting thing. Just breathing and being alive is something to marvel at, but the speed of the world can make moments seem fleeting. Driving to work or going to the next busy thing can be appreciated, for the journey itself. I would like to try to center myself in this way a bit more.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Emily Lesh 10/10/2024 8:00 AMPracticing gratitude can help people have a positive mindset, which can help brighten their days and daily activities. Personally practicing gratitude has helped me be more grateful, helped improve my goals, and made me more happy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Emily Lesh 10/10/2024 7:57 AMI love the idea of electric vehicles and hybrids. However, in my hometown, there are not many places where I can charge a vehicle if I am out and about. It is also not super practical for living on a college campus, which I am currently doing. I think one way to have more people consider an EV or hybrid is to see if there are places in everyday towns where charging stations could be placed. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Support Native CommunitiesIndigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?
Emily Lesh 10/10/2024 7:52 AMBalance is an important part of sustainability because it contains respect. Respect for indigenous communities and respect for the earth. Indigenous communities also have a culture deeply rooted in a form of sustainability. -
Emily Lesh 10/06/2024 11:34 AMOne week into the eco-challenge! Let's keep up all the good work and continue through the month strong!!
