Jerry's actions
Food
Whole Foods Diet
Processed foods can be less nutritious for our bodies and take more energy and water to produce, which can create more waste, pollution, and offer less benefit to our health. I will enjoy 1 meals per day free of processed foods.
Water
Eco-Friendly Gardening
I will plant native species, landscape with water-efficient plants, and use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Simplicity
Eat Mindfully
I will eat all of my meals without distractions, e.g., phone, computer, TV, or newspaper.
Health
Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my Home
I will spend 10 minutes researching toxic chemicals found in cleaning supplies and personal care products and remove them from my home.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 30 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 10 minutes each day.
Waste
Snack Time!
Action is to recycle candy and snack wrappers at collection bins in kitchens on 1, 2, and 3rd floors. I am choosing this action to bring awareness to unnecessary waste and challenge staff to do this daily as this call to action incorporates us to do the walk on the BRI Facilities Sustainability Road Map and have some daily exercise in the work place as well!
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
