    Refrigerants like CFCs destroy ozone in the atmosphere. I remember when the Montreal Protocol was signed to end the use of CFCs and similar substances.

    It's easy to see water consumption when running a faucet or shower, but you don't see it in the things we eat or buy. I know meat is the biggest one, but I like the way the footprint calculator visualizes it.

    55 years ago today there was a tragic accident at the site of a coal mine in Wales. A combination of rain and unsafe practices caused a landslide of coal slurry which killed dozens, mostly young schoolchildren, in the town below. Renewable energy does not do this.

    Apparently carbon dioxide is an efficient refrigerant. Why have we not been using it??
