BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Yesterday, as I ordered a coffee at Tim Horton's, I mentioned that I don't need a sleeve since I keep replacements in my purse.  In response my server's expression I added that it was one way to save the environment, to which he replied, "Yes, we all do what we can."  I don't think that this warrants any points but I felt enormously pleased that he got it!

Last Saturday I attended a 90-minute virtual panel discussion with Chief Na'Moks, Severn Cullis-Suzuki, Shannon McPhail, Mark Ruffalo, Kris Statnyk, and moderator, Kai Nagata, who reviewed the history and current status of the pipeline controversy in Wet'suwet'en Territory in northern British Columbia.  Recognizing that we all have a role and responsibility in helping to protect the environment, I have signed on to participate in a 9-point action step plan that will help support important change in this area.

My partner and I shopped at a farmers market for apples 40 lb,  pears 40 lb and lots of ginger to can 48 quarts of compote.  We got 24 quarts done today!

I enjoyed our BC ZW meeting today.  Hosted/coordinated a low-waste Halloween party today. One person with one car picked up all 12 pumpkins. I made "pumpkin" soup from scratch and shared homemade kombucha in recycled bottles.

Donelda Rose and I presented a service on "zero waste" to our congregation with 28 in attendance.  We have had an email with very positive feedback and a list of brain stormed suggestions people can follow up on to green up the December holidays.

I support David Eby as new premier and spent a couple of hours being part of the "wallpaper" behind him as he delivered his first speech. I will remind him of what he's said about working with Anjali and new members for the environment. You can see me nodding my head in agreement in lower left! https://youtu.be/swHIRX4CLCI?t=119

Prepping for BC Unitarians Zero Waste meeting tomorrow - where we'll review how this went /is going this year.
I notice that I'm motivated by competition (or is that team spirit?) - when I sink below the top point person, I do more posts!
