Pacific University Energysavers Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

What I am most proud of is that I took time everyday to be present and think about what impacts my daily tasks would have not only on the environment but on me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nourishing Food Donate Food
Why do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?

I donate because I see people around me every day who have need and food anxiety.  Grocery stores often have deals on things I commonly buy (like buy two get two more for free) so I often have more than I need.

I made a salad with arugula, goat cheese, strawberries, toasted almonds, and a strawberry vinagrette dressing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nourishing Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

I know it is challenging to prepare balanced meals for just two people and I often overcook or overeat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Balancing Consumption Personal Waste Audit
Why is it often difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places?

The way some many things are overpackaged or have multiple layers of packaging sends the message that waste doesn't matter.
