October 26 at 5:21 PMSince it was finally warm here again after so much snow, I took the opportunity to walk along the field bordering my neighbourhood, until I reached a small park I hadn't seen before. Combined with the slush of the snow melt, the sunshine made it easy to spend roughly an hour exploring.

October 21 at 8:19 PMFor my zero-waste supper, I opted to use up eggs that were going to go bad soon rather than cook something newer/more exciting I bought. It seems small, but I appreciate how natural it has become for me to be mindful of these things.

October 20 at 12:42 PM“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity…and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.” — William Blake

October 18 at 7:40 PMAlthough I'm usually more of a saver than a spender, when I came into some money the other day I found myself thinking about the benefits of saving up for things I really need. Since then, I've been attempting to take the money itself off of my mind, and attempting to be content with just "letting it sit".

October 16 at 7:44 PMCreativity is necessary for practicing simplicity as in our modern day, we are pushed towards over-consumption and subsequent waste as the norm, and as such need to be able to think outside of the box in order to get back to more simple and eco-friendly solutions for our problems.

October 16 at 7:29 PMTo reduce my carbon footprint, I educated myself on fast fashion and am now going to actively seek out ways to repurpose clothing and avoid mass marketing. Already I spend approximately 1 day a week using any sort of vehicle , and otherwise walk anywhere I need to go or use public transportation.

October 16 at 7:20 PMThe biggest source of my water use seems to be my diet, and since my mom is vegan I'm going to try and cut down meat to 1 meal a day instead of 2 to reduce consumption. Already in use, we barely leave our kitchen or bathroom sinks running, and have all water-saving toilets.

October 16 at 7:06 PMI often use whole potatoes, and skip peeling off the skin in favour of cleaning them well, I also tend to use typically discarded ingredients (such as stalks, tops, etc) to make soup stocks/bases to avoid waste. I've also recently been more conscientious of eating more leftovers, and not just throwing away anything left on my plate.
