Be mindful of limiting print jobs at work. The best thing you could do is to think if it is required to have a document in hard copy. If not, you could consider sending it via email.

Using a reusable lunch box rather than paper bags will help reduce waste. If a food item needs to be wrapped, avoid cling wrap and opt for more environmentally friendly wrapping materials like beeswax.

I love my lunch boxes! It's a way to show your personality. I have so many, I actually had to sell some this summer in a garage sale they were starting to get a bit out of hand.

You can limit your household food waste by portioning your meals reasonably, only buying what you need and using food waste as fertilizer for soil and plants.

Conserve water by running your dishwasher or washing machine only when it’s full.

Shop for local produce. The average item of fresh food travels 1,500 miles before we buy it. These carbon-heavy value chains create emissions through transport, refrigeration and production processes.

Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

Saving money at the gas pump, and tax credits for certain hybrids/EV’s

I was just calculating out that on a trip I took for work yesterday, they'd be willing to reimburse me $30 for gas... but by charging my EV at home, the amount it would actually cost me to drive that far (admittedly not including any wear or tear on the car) would be all of $4! So definitely saving a huge chunk of money by switching to an EV!

A lot of rainwater goes to waste. Harvest roof water from gutters and downspouts and use it to water your plants instead of using your hose or sprinkler.

Even if electronic devices are shut off or in sleep mode, they still use energy. Unplugging your devices from wall sockets can save electricity.

What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

Probably save the money to put towards other energy efficient choices, like new LED light fixtures and smart switches

40% of the heating energy produced in your home is lost through gaps in windows, doors and flooring. Inspect window seals, door seals, and floorboard gaps.
