Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

Practice Zero-Waste Cooking
Food waste hurts our planet and our communities. I will cook 1 meals with zero waste each day.

Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 6 meatless meals and/or 1 vegan meals each day.

Reflect on My Needs Versus Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Waste
Visit a Local Recycling Center, Landfill, or Transfer Station
Seeing where waste goes can change how we think about what we throw away. I will visit a local facility to learn more about the waste stream in my community and share what I learn with others and in the feed.

Grace Allen 10/22/2025 3:28 PMI regularly volunteer in my community at my local library and virtually through ESW HQ! I love volunteering in my spare time! Also, with my connection to the library I get to hear about all the fun adult crafts and was able to make a spooky ghost scene painting and a bat keychain! -

I have been vegetarian since April 2021. Recently, I started eating chicken again which allowed for a healthier lifestyle. Even though I will sometimes eat meat, I enjoy my meatless meals I cook at home regularly! My favorite new recipe I tried was cheesy asparagus and orzo!! :) -

I noticed I felt better about myself and more fulfilled with my day! Even just spending time reading, walking, or stepping away from the screen (tv or computer) in some way improved my day! It was hard at first because it is such a built in habit!
