Learn to batch cook and freeze extra portions. Plan your menu weekly instead of "by the seat of your pants": Be creative in planning based on ingredients you already have on hand. BUT!!! - only plan meals you know you like and will eat. Prepare all the ingredients on Monday and then portion in reusable containers based on the meals you are planning for the week:
Monday - spaghetti
Tuesday - taco salad
Wednesday - Oriental vegetables and rice
Thursday - Grilled chicken with salad
Friday - Chili over rice
This way you can cook all the meats ahead of time. all at once which will reduce your energy usage which is a bonus. Then just portion out what you need for each meal.
