REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Ibrahim Baghirov 10/13/2025 10:25 AMYes, I agree with what Rachel Carson stated. Nature, in my view, is crucial to our spiritual growth and psychological balance. Walking through the forests, listening to birds, or watching a sunset are a few instances of how spending time outdoors may help us slow and find a greater feeling of wonder and serenity. People can lose touch with the connection if they spend a lot of time indoors, surrounded by screens and artificial settings. We can feel higher levels of anxiety, stress, and feelings of emptiness as a result of this detachment when we lose sight of our connection to nature. It suggests that we run the risk of valuing effectiveness over presence and convenience over connection in a culture that spends most of its time indoors. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureAre you a gardener or house plant lover? Why or why not? What do you need to elevate your plant care skills?
Ibrahim Baghirov 10/13/2025 10:21 AMThough I don't consider myself a great gardener just yet, I do like taking care of plants. I love having houseplants because they fill my home with energy and peace, and I feel connected to nature as I watch them grow. I still have a lot to learn about soil types, light balance, and proper watering, though. I need to find out more about the distinctive needs of each plant, use better soil and pots with adequate drainage, and set up an ongoing watering plan if I want to enhance my plant care skills. Getting knowledge about natural fertilizers and composting would allow me to better care for my plants in an environmentally friendly way. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureWhat is one way you can reduce your impact on nature the next time you spend time outdoors, and how might that action help preserve the environment for others?
Ibrahim Baghirov 10/13/2025 10:19 AMBy following to the "leave no trace" principle and making sure I don't leave any garbage, food waste, or additional items behind, I may reduce my impact on the natural world the next time I spend time outdoors. In order to protect wildlife habitats and plant life, I can also stick on approved routes. These small acts help ensure maintaining of the area's natural beauty and guarantee that future generations of people will remember it as it was. I contribute to preserving the balance of nature and protect the environment for future visitors and generations by being mindful of my presence. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Ibrahim Baghirov 10/13/2025 10:17 AMI agree with Father Thomas Berry that celebration ought to be our primary objective. His words act as an indication that recognizing and valuing our close connection to nature is a vital aspect of being human. By appreciating the sunrise, the seasons, or the Earth's rhythm, we are recognizing that we are a part of something more than just beauty. Berry's viewpoint seems especially relevant in contemporary society, where things frequently seem hurried and cut off from nature. Instead of viewing ourselves as distinct from the planet, celebration helps us live in harmony with it by fostering mindfulness and thankfulness. Creating a relationship with these natural rhythms can, in my view, develop greater respect for the planet and inspire us to lead environmentally friendly lives. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat did you learn about your neighbors or community through this action? How can building connections with your neighbors improve your community?
Ibrahim Baghirov 10/13/2025 10:14 AMThis activity showed me that while many of my neighbors have similar environmental concerns, they frequently miss a chance to discuss them. A simple conversation about conserving energy, recycling, or local vegetables sparked conversations about shared resources and communal gardens. These types of connections may encourage collaboration on small sustainability projects while strengthening our sense of community. People are more inclined to support eco-friendly projects, share thoughts, and make social shifts that benefit everyone when they know and trust each other. Some of these changes involve organizing clean-up events or sharing tools instead of buying new ones.
