    Food
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

One food that learned how to process and preserve is peaches! I was able to make both a syrup good for homemade peach soda, and some peach jam/spread with 3 peaches from my fridge that were about to go bad. Mixed with some homemade bread its even better! I also have found that pickled vegetables are super easy to make, so far my favorite has been pickling red onions!

Recently I've been using my set aside no-screen time to work on some of my art and getting back into drawing on paper rather than doing digital art. Its been really fun to refresh my traditional art skills and enjoy some time away from screens!

That's so awesome! I hope you'll consider uploading a picture of one of the pieces you've been working on to the group. We'd love to see how being away from screens has inspired you!

Today I spent time away from a screen by putting on a cd again and doing some reading. I have a handful of books that I've bought and haven't read due to feeling like I need an excuse to sit down and have free time to read. It was nice to finally start reading Keirsten White's 'Padawan'!

That's awesome! I had to get into audio books because it's hard for me to sit still. But I love reading, its so good for your brain!

I've been trying to work on eating healthier and cooking more for myself, so today I used the task of cleaning and making breakfast to replace some screen-time and made sure to leave my phone upstairs so I wouldn't constantly check it in-between tasks and while waiting for stuff to cook!

Today to replace screen-time I put on a CD then did some yoga and worked out! I found that it was really nice to do so without access to my phone, I was able to focus more and pay more attention to my body and feelings rather than going on my phone every time I took a rest!

Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

I find that on the days I'm able to go for a walk I feel more grounded and present. Spending some time outside always seems to help me feel more aware and less stressed.

Walking is the simplest way to clear the mind and appreciate nature. I find it easier to breathe deeply and get "out of my head" about work or anything else that seems monumental.

What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

I ended up spending some time listening to music on my CD player and drawing/writing in my notebook! The time actually went by pretty fast and I found that I can probably go longer without a screen on days I'm not as busy!
