REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Watch a Documentary about Food SovereigntyHow does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

Savannah Jennings 10/31/2024 3:07 PMI loved watching that documentary! I remember how it motivated me a lot when I watched it my freshman year of high school right after I went vegan. It made me really open my eyes to how we get our food/ how it impacts our bodies and also the planet. Great recommendation!

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Amy Betts 10/31/2024 1:55 PMFor only $18/month, Ridwell takes plastic wrapping and other mullti-layer plastic. They also handled batteries and hard plastic caps. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Audit Toxic Cleaning Products in my HomeTo what extent do environmental factors contribute to your own health or issues with health?
Amy Betts 10/29/2024 9:12 AMI make it a point to appreciate places with cleaner air such as the Nisqually watershed. My family history includes asthma, so I'm very cognizant of not being around second-hand smoke or other pollution. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Donate FoodWhy do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?
Amy Betts 10/29/2024 9:09 AMI recognize that not everyone has been taught how to feed themselves in a healthy and sustainable way throughout the year and not just during the holidays. Children especially need this modeled. I make it a point to donate healthy, nonperishable food. -
