Health
Go Get a Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being.
Simplicity
Research My Investment Portfolio for Alignment with My Values
I will find out what stocks and bonds are in my investment account portfolio to determine if they align with my values (e.g. environmental, social responsibility, community).
Simplicity
Reflect on My Needs Versus Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Health
Audit Toxic Products in my Home
Many common products contain harmful chemicals. I will spend 30 minutes researching chemicals found in products I use, and I will make a list of products I'd like to replace with safer options.
Health
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Adding fruits and vegetables to our meals nourishes our body and the planet. I will prepare and enjoy 1 servings of a variety of colorful fruits and veggies.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day.
Simplicity
Replace Screen Time with Other Activities
I will replace 60 minutes of screen time each day with other activities.

I will repair at least one item that is broken, but is repairable. This might be items like garden tools, sewing machine, small appliances, electronics, clothing, and more.
Nature
Explore a New Trail or Nature Walk
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Water
Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
I will prevent water runoff and increase absorbency by mulching the base of plants and trees at my home or work.
Take the Pre-Survey
Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will find out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in recycling dumpsters or my curbside bin.
Food
Donate Food in My Community
I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.
Waste
Research Local Waste and Landfill Sites
I will spend 45 minutes finding out where landfills and/or toxic waste sites are situated in my region and which communities are most impacted by these sites.
Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will shop at a farmers market or food co-op to support local farmers and businesses. By doing so, I may be able to learn more about who produces the food I eat and goods I buy.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

Most paint stores like Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore will accept latex and oil-based paint for recycling. Need to call ahead to make sure. Old stand alone air conditioner units are much harder to recycle. Right now, only option is through the landfill service - they are still recycled, thought. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityIn what ways can you increase the positive impacts and decrease the negative impacts of your financial investments?
Amy Betts 10/08/2025 3:14 PM- Pet Parent 🐾
As I work through wants vs needs, ensure that my spending and investment decisions support my financial goals without harming others or my community. This means carefully assessing the full supply chain impact of products, services and investments when making financial decisions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Amy Betts 10/06/2025 5:05 PM- Pet Parent 🐾
Exclusively purchase organically grown fruits and vegetables. While more expensive monetarily, they are less expensive in terms of health and environmental outcomes.-
