  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

I went on a trip with the ALI program and we spent a lot of time talking about the needs vs wants when it comes to leading a group. Making sure the group meets its needs before its wants is very important. Making sure the people you are watching over are safe is a key trait in a good leader.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
In what ways can you increase the positive impacts and decrease the negative impacts of your financial investments?

Instead of just scrolling on your phone you can spend even just 10 minutes watching patterns on stocks and etc. The hardest part about stocks is the learning what is actually going on. New practices like these can help you make smart financial decisions.

    Food
What is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?

I went on a camping trip last weekend and used stuff I got from the farmers market to feed myself for a couple meals while camping.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

It wasn't hard to do other activities, it was just hard to get out of the house and start them. Once I started I didn't care I wasn't watching tv or something like that. I spent my time doing a small hike instead of sitting on my phone.

    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where else would you rather invest this money instead of wasting food?

This does not surprise me. I grew up in a larger family and we would waste a lot of food. This money could get invested into paying bills instead of getting wasted.
