REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Elisabeth Clary 10/02/2025 12:32 PMI grew up in Bellingham WA, there environmental problems were in the forefront of many peoples minds. Here there are still a lot of people but not nearly as many who have it in their minds. I'm hoping to simply help to grow my friends understanding of these issues and allow them to realize what impact our actions might have. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat inspires you to act toward a more sustainable community?
Elisabeth Clary 10/02/2025 12:30 PMWhat inspires me to act toward a more sustainable community is the idea of the positive impact that work could have years and years into the future. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Elisabeth Clary 10/02/2025 12:29 PMI work much better by simply taking a walk, sometimes I will be in the middle of homework and I will take a break and go for a walk come back and feel better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Elisabeth Clary 10/02/2025 12:28 PMSometimes theres things that you may have never considered, things that are really a luxury but so normal to you that it takes a moment to realize what a luxury it is. What has truly made me realize how many luxuries I have is when I go on backpacking trips, your out there with so little but backpacking has been one of my most favorite experiences. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Elisabeth Clary 10/02/2025 12:26 PMThis stands true for me, I often become overwhelmed and stressed when I am inside and when I am able to spend time outside many of my problems are fixed or I just feel better and more capable. A culture that spends most of its time outdoors lacks personal connections to people. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Elisabeth Clary 10/02/2025 12:24 PMElectricity is generated on a grid and it negatively impacts the environments because too much energy usage has many impacts. It is important to only use electricity when you need to because its not always a very renewable resource.-
Soren Goubely Dondaine 10/02/2025 1:11 PM- Adventurer 🏔
Electricity is made in different ways, like using fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas), nuclear power, or renewable sources (like wind, solar, and water). In many places, a lot of electricity still comes from fossil fuels, which pollute the air and harm the environment. This pollution can hurt animals, make people sick, and cause climate change. That’s why it’s better to use less electricity and support clean energy.
