REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Volunteer in My CommunityWhat event did you volunteer for and what was the experience like for you?
Amanda Evans 10/06/2022 9:34 PMI volunteered for the habitat restoration team's native plant sale. It was awesome to be with people from the college and community organizing all the cute little native babies for people to take home and add to their yards! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Personal Waste AuditWhy is it often difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places?
Amanda Evans 10/05/2022 10:14 PMLife is so busy and overwhelming we feel compelled to choose the convenience of grocery store options.-
Amanda Evans 10/06/2022 6:54 AMExactly. We are a culture of individuals cut off from community just rushing along the capitalistic nightmare ways of doing things. During the pandemic I had time to try zero waste practices. But it took a lot of time. And it was hard to do in isolation. We could be taking care of each other so much better! -
Catherine Johnson 10/05/2022 10:35 PMWe are not thinking. Just like in other aspects of life, it takes effort to think about our impact on others; sometimes we are blind as to our piece of the larger whole.

Amanda Evans 10/05/2022 11:52 AMI love a good challenge especially when I can do it as part of a team. I can't wait to see how many points our team gets! Ever since I saw the good old "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore I've been keeping a close eye on climate change. I was very dedicated at the beginning of 2020 to making this the decade where we really turn things around and save our climate by 2030. Well, I'm a bit more jaded now but I still think this stuff is important. That's why I like doing these challenges as part of a community. It helps me feel less discouraged!
