Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will shop at a farmers market or food co-op to support local farmers and businesses. By doing so, I may be able to learn more about who produces the food I eat and goods I buy.
Food
Donate Food in My Community
I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day.
Nature
Practice Gratitude for the Earth
I will spend 10 minutes per day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and my natural surroundings.
Nature
Explore a New Trail or Nature Walk
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Simplicity
Research My Investment Portfolio for Alignment with My Values
I will find out what stocks and bonds are in my investment account portfolio to determine if they align with my values (e.g. environmental, social responsibility, community).
Simplicity
Declutter My Home
I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home.
Food
Enjoy a Meatless Meal
Producing 1 kg of beef emits as much greenhouse gas as driving 150 miles, meanwhile, 1 kg of veggies or grains leaves a much lighter footprint! This week, I’ll shrink my climate impact by having 2 meatless meals and/or 0 vegan meals each day.
Simplicity
Limit Social Media Use and Reflect About My Experience
I will limit my social media use to once per day and share the impact I see and reflections I have on the feed.
Simplicity
Research Impact Investing
Using the links provided below, I will research impact investing and determine if it is right for me.
Energy
Calculate My Carbon Impact
Knowing our carbon footprint is the first step to reducing it. I will calculate my carbon impact and identify lifestyle changes that could reduce the carbon footprint and impacts on the environment. I will share my commitments to lowering my impact on the feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicitySocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
Caitlin Feir 10/16/2025 3:17 PMAt the beginning of October, I deleted Instagram and Facebook from my phone. I'm now spending more time walking, reading, cooking, writing, and just enjoying life in the "real world" versus being glued to the screen, mindlessly scrolling. I don't miss the mental clutter and noise at all! It’s been a bit of an adjustment in terms of how I connect with my friends and family. I do miss seeing their updates and pictures, but not having social media is actually fostering deeper connections. I now call or send voice notes to my friends to talk about what’s going on in their lives, rather than just watching their stories or liking their posts and thinking that counts as real connection. 1000000000/10 recommend going cold-turkey.
