  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
What did you notice about your habits or routines when limiting your showers to five minutes? What changes — if any — do you think you’ll continue long-term?

This change has been difficult for me because I enjoy longer showers as a self-care reset. Usually, my showers are closer to 10 minutes, so it is not too big a change. I will continue to limit my time in the shower and how often I shower, but 5-minute showers are not a sustainable habit for me long term.

    Energy
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

At my apartment, we use Pacific Power, and they generate electricity mostly from thermal sources such as natural gas or coal. They also generate electricity from hydroelectric power and partially from renewable sources such as solar and wind. The fact that the majority of the electricity is generated from thermal sources indicates that it is not good for the environment and causes air pollution.
