REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Less Screen TimeWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Sierra Hope 10/08/2022 4:02 PMThe biggest implication of a culture that spends most of its time inside on screens is the disconnect with the natural world that occurs. In order to want to put effort into to protecting the natural world one must foster a connection to it. This is lost in not just the younger generations, but the older ones that spend their days glued to their devices as well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Calculate My Water FootprintWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Sierra Hope 10/07/2022 8:14 AMOne way I am committed to reducing my water use from now on is by shortening the lengths of my showers, by actually setting a timer so I can keep track. And better yet, lower the number of showers I take each week, only showering when I need to. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Complete an Energy AuditWhat most interested you, or surprised you about your energy audit?
Sierra Hope 10/07/2022 8:12 AMWhat surprised me the most isn't how inefficient my house was with energy but how many options there are out there to become extremely energy efficient. I am excited to carry this knowledge with me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Calculate My Carbon FootprintWhat is one way you will reduce your carbon impact? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon impact?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Repair a Broken ItemWhat did you fix and how did it go? Share a few pics if you can!
Sierra Hope 10/06/2022 9:27 PMI fixed an old shelf I found in a dumpster, and used wood glue and yard to secure the loose piece of wood. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Reduce Social Media UseSocial media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also create echo chambers and take more time than we realize or intend to give. After completing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?
Sierra Hope 10/06/2022 10:02 AMI embarked on a walk around my neighborhood, I discovered so many pretty yards, 5 different little libraries, and an abandoned tomato plant (I got about 2 containers' worth of tomatoes). It was nice to take a break from running all the time and slowing down to explore the beauty in the simple things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Take Shorter ShowersWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Sierra Hope 10/06/2022 10:00 AMIn addition to my shorter showers, I will be only using cold water when doing my laundry and only doing loads of laundry when it is absolutely nessicary.
