Daniela Ilizaliturri-Gonell 11/03/2024 9:40 AMSmall changes in habits and mindfulness in one’s daily actions can cause a significant difference in consumption of single use products. Energy, time, and food consumption can decrease if we just pay a little more attention to what we consume -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Listen to a Food PodcastWhat podcast did you choose and what did you learn on the podcast you listened to?
Daniela Ilizaliturri-Gonell 10/20/2024 9:45 AMI listened to Rich Roll’s podcast and he had “Maggie Bird” on it. She is a lifelong vegan and health foods & animal rights activist, she’s also Billie Eilish’s mom. I learned that she and her family are suppling plant based food tour and eliminating plastic bottles while on the road. They are also supporting food banks and are working on ways to educate students and promote cleaner, environmentally conscious decisions.-
Mary Hanks 10/20/2024 2:30 PMI love that they are eschewing the "rock star" lifestyle and setting an example for the world! Thank you for posting about the podcast.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Daniela Ilizaliturri-Gonell 10/20/2024 9:41 AMBecause they have the ability to pay for the “middle man”, for the slaughtering of the animal and the packaging and transportation costs for it to be in supermarkets. We should be tending more to plant based, Whole Foods that we can grow ourselves or buy from farmers. Not only is it better for our health, it is better for the planet thanks to less co2 emissions -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Heat and Cool NaturallyWhat are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?
Daniela Ilizaliturri-Gonell 10/20/2024 9:38 AMSteeping my tea with heat from the sun and making “sun-tea” instead of turning the stove on to heat water :)-
Liam Carter 11/06/2024 10:23 PMThat's actually really cute :)
