I fixed a hole in my favorite pants. I didn't really know what I was doing, but I watched a video about darning and basically did that to the hole.

Enacting Equity Learn About Trans, Femme, and Nonbinary Experiences
How is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?

Trans and nonbinary people are people just like cisgender people are people. I cannot imagine any circumstance where equality should not happen. I mean, we're all people, right?

I listened to the BBC Earth podcast called A Wombat Ate My Homework. Part of the podcast talked about fisheries agents who board fishing boats to make sure they're following laws. It was very interesting. I also learned that if a wombat is itchy, that means it's healthy. Weird.

    Regenerating Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

I'm not really sure what a sense of place is. To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy to never leave my house so I feel like my sense of place is finely honed. Anyhow, I went to Hawk Woods and checked out all of the back trails there. I've been before on the main trail around the pond, but I've never ventured further. It was fun to explore!

    Balancing Consumption Track My Purchases
What have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?

Honestly, I was pretty impressed with my spending habits in the last few weeks. I literally have only purchased essentials, unless you consider Netflix to not be essential. To me, it totally is because I don't have cable and the antenna only works when it wants to. I will admit that it's a good thing I didn't do this while the Ren Faire was going on, because there was a lot of unnecessary spending for those two months!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Regenerating Nature Spend Time Outside
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Dani Kalar's avatar

Most obviously, spending time on screens instead of being active leads to poor physical health. I think it's too early to definitively state whether increased screen time impacts mental and emotional health, but studies clearly point to that.

    Regenerating Nature Take Shorter Showers
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

The past few winters, we've had to leave a tap dripping to avoid frozen pipes. I'm not sure how much water that wastes, but any waste is bad. This year we've purchased a bunch of insulation that we're putting into the water hole thing in order to hopefully not have to keep the drips going. Just have to get brave enough to go under the house and get it done!
