Josh's actions
Energy
Calculate My Digital Carbon Footprint
I will calculate my digital carbon footprint and take steps to reduce my CO2 emissions.
Nature
Enjoy the Sunrise or Sunset
I will enjoy the sunrise and/or sunset each day.
Energy
Heat and Cool Naturally
I will naturally heat and cool my house, office, or dorm room by opening or closing my windows, curtains, and blinds, and by using fans.
Transportation
Walk Instead of Driving
I will walk 3 miles each day instead of driving and avoid sending CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Energy
Turn Off Lights and Electronics
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Water
Understand My Water Footprint
Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.
Health
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 60 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Nature
Explore a New Trail or Nature Walk
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat surprised you most about your water footprint, and how did it influence your perspective on water use? What changes can you make to reduce your water consumption, and how will these impact your daily routine?
Josh Lear 10/14/2025 12:55 PMI was surprised that my water footprint was lower than the US average. I was especially surprised of this when I learned that the average water use was 1,802 gallons per day. Changes I could make include taking shorter showers, turning of the water when not actively using the faucet, and drive less. I don't that these changes will change my daily routine very much or at all. -
