Take the Pre-Event Survey
I’ll take a short pre-survey to share what motivated me to join — and earn 15 points! (If I already took the survey by email, I’ll just mark this action complete to get my points.)

I will spend 60 minutes listening to a podcast about equity and justice.
Nature
Explore a New Trail or Nature Walk
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Hailey Loneman 10/31/2025 2:27 PMSpending time outdoors can enhance your sense of place because it can boost your mood. Going outdoors can help find a sense of place because whenever I need a mental health break, I go to a park or hiking trail to practice my mindfulness. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWhat motivated you to schedule or attend your check-up, and how did it make you feel afterward that you completed this action?
Hailey Loneman 10/31/2025 2:15 PMAfter going to a check-up, I felt kind of relieved, even though there was nothing wrong; It was just a relief on stuff that I would not have known. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat podcast did you choose and what did you learn on the podcast you listened to?
Hailey Loneman 10/31/2025 2:11 PMI didn't listen to a podcast, but watched a documentary, The Alabama Solution, about the prison system in Alabama. I learned that in Solitary confinement, one guy was in there for 5 years, and the living situation was bad. Sleeping on floors, unpaid labor, swat team beat prisoners, flooding in their rooms, people leaving in body bags. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Hailey Loneman 10/31/2025 2:06 PMCreativity is necessary because if a product is too expensive to buy, you can find a way to do it yourself. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for using every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable (including the skins, tops, stalks, etc.) during your next meal prep?
Hailey Loneman 10/31/2025 2:03 PMThe way you can use an entire vegetable is if you can find a place to compost and put the parts that are not used in cooking.-
