Each day, I will spend 30 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood, which might include a park, water body, trail, etc.

I will enjoy 1 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.

Make Zero-Waste Meals
I will cook 1 meal(s) with zero-waste each day.
Regenerating Nature
Take Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute or less showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.
Regenerating Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minute(s) per day typically spent inside and often with electronics with quality time outside walking, exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, observing nature, or practicing gratitude for nature.

REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Spend Time OutsideWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Greg Orr 10/10/2022 11:36 PMI feel like lots of people in my generation are very disconnected and alienated from the world we live in, I think living on screens causes us to struggle more with meeting new people and working through differences in ideals than previous generations who grew up in a more in-person culture. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?
Greg Orr 10/10/2022 11:33 PMI walked to get dinner with my boyfriend tonight. It was all places I have been before in a car, but on foot it felt very different. Almost a surreal feeling to experience propelling myself through space until I reached my destination. Also lovely to see all the neighborhood cats!-
Nellie Long 10/12/2022 8:15 AMWhen I choose to walk to a restaurant, I'm surprised over and over again at how much better the meal and conversation are. It's as if the act of walking changes my nervous system.

REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Take Shorter ShowersWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Greg Orr 10/10/2022 11:31 PMI would like to tear up my lawn and replace it with plants that have less water requirements or perhaps a pebble garden -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Eat Plant-Based MealsWhat was the tastiest meatless or vegan meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?
Greg Orr 10/10/2022 11:30 PMI made kimchi eggs this morning, They were so delicious. But the best vegan meal I've had recently was vegan stuffed peppers. They were PHENOMENOL, and I used more of the pepper than one normally would, ate almost the whole top. everything but the stem. It was the hat on the stuffed pepper-
Nellie Long 10/12/2022 8:16 AMAre you a person who shares recipes? I'd love to get it for you. I'm always looking for vegan recipes that taste really good.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Make Zero-Waste MealsHow did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?
Greg Orr 10/10/2022 11:28 PMI made broccoli and ate the stem as well, also put parsley stems in the sauce I made.
