Andrea's actions
Simplicity
De-Clutter My Home
I will de-clutter, clean, and donate or recycle unneeded items in my home.
Nature
Use Resources for Climate Anxiety
I will spend 5 minutes each day trying out climate anxiety resources that support mental and psychological well being.
Simplicity
Meditate
I will meditate or create a moment of silence for 10 minutes each day to reflect on things important to me.
Nature
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 3.4lbs (1.5kg) a month or 41lbs (18.6kg) a year by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.
Community
Support Native Communities
I will use the resource links provided and spend 30 minutes learning about the native populations that lived in my area prior to colonization, and what I can do to support those that still exist.
Health
Go Get a Check Up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.
Energy
Heat and Cool Naturally
I will naturally heat and cool my house, office, or dorm room by opening or closing my windows, curtains, and blinds, and by using fans.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Andrea Pallotta 10/17/2024 5:54 AMI made a goal to stop one mailer per week! This week I stopped the monthly mailer from the local food bank for donations. I also opted out of mailed statements for my kid's 529 plan! Small steps!!!-
Lenora Andrews 10/17/2024 12:44 PMAndrea, keep up the good work on this! I need to do more as I have way too much junk mail coming to my address! Stopping one per week is manageable too!
