REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is your region being affected by climate change? How will it be affected in the future?
Christopher Regalado 10/03/2025 10:04 AMMy region receives significantly less rain compared to previous years, and as a result, it has to contend with droughts and frequent wildfires. I see this issue only worsening if the rain pattern does not change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:40 PM- Water Protector 🌊
My home has solar panels, and they generate more energy than what is used at home.-
Heather Phelps 10/02/2025 6:57 PM- Educator 🧠
Most home solar panels are mounted on the roof, so shouldn't cause any changes - my parents haven't noticed any in the years they've had solar panels on their roof. With ground mounted solar panels, it's actually really cool that in some places they're providing beneficial effects to animals and the environment, like improving pollinator habitat or even fighting back against desertification! -
Kylie Janssen 10/02/2025 6:36 PM- Pet Parent 🐾
That's so cool! I would love to have solar panels for my home. Does it cause any changes in the environment or animals?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now? What was the most challenging part of reducing refined sugar, and how did you overcome it?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:39 PM- Water Protector 🌊
While I did not feel 'addicted' to sugar, I did consume a lot of it. Now I feel much better. My biggest consumption of sugar was soda, so the biggest challenge was finding a suitable replacement, in the form of flavored sparkling/seltzer waters. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:32 PM- Water Protector 🌊
Switch to more water-saving items and devices for the house. Along with being more water-conscious in our daily use. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteReducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:31 PM- Water Protector 🌊
It makes me feel accomplished.
Getting more people to switch to paperless. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:26 PM- Water Protector 🌊
By sharing my positive experience, savings and simplicity in dealing with my home's solar panels. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:23 PM- Water Protector 🌊
I have already installed solar panels at home, and they have been generating so much extra solar electricity for the grid. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Christopher Regalado 10/02/2025 3:21 PM- Water Protector 🌊
Use part to buy vegetables and vegan food options and reinvest the rest into more green energy items for the house. -
