  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking, or driving?

Sustainable transportation choices improve my engagement with my community because I’m closer to the people around me. For example, on public transit I’m sharing the same space as people in my community, while when driving, I’m not interacting with others directly. I’ve noticed that while walking, I often see people that I know, so I’m able to interact with others often.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

My energy usage is relatively average compared to others in my area. Some steps I can take each day is limiting heating/AC use if I don’t need to use it. I also can remind myself and my roommates to turn off lights when not in use.
