    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

I think Father Thomas Berry is correct that our primary purpose is celebration. Humans look to form relationships with one another and find companionship. The best moments in life are when your friends/family are around you celebrating the big, little, and everything in between.

    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

No, this does not surprise me. American portion sizes are extremely large, especially at restaurants. I would rather use the $1500 for a trip with my husband :)

Great point! Becoming more responsible with buying food comes with perks: not only helps it with food waste, but also create more opportunities to save money for vacations and new experiences.

What are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?

When I own a home, I will install solar lights along my walkway/driveway and throughout my backyard to harness the power of the sun!
