Complete an Energy Audit
I will complete an online energy audit of my home, work, or other shared space to identify the next steps for saving energy.
Nourishing Food
Donate Food
I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.
Balancing Consumption
Less Screen Time
I will replace 45 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.
Regenerating Nature
Calculate My Water Footprint
I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste.
Nourishing Food
Weekly Meal Planning
I will reduce food waste, excess carbon and save money by planning my daily and weekly menus so that I only purchase the ingredients needed.
Regenerating Nature
Explore My Area
Each day, I will spend 30 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood, which might include a park, water body, trail, etc.
Regenerating Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 45 minute(s) per day typically spent inside and often with electronics with quality time outside walking, exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, observing nature, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Regenerating Nature
Take Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute or less showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.

REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Complete an Energy AuditWhat most interested you, or surprised you about your energy audit?
Courtney Smith 10/21/2022 2:14 PMI was extremely surprised by how much energy is used by the smallest aspects of my daily life such as lighting my living space. I started to pay more attention to when my lights were on when I didn't necessarily need them on and I saw a crazy difference in my energy usage the next month. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Donate FoodWhy do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?
Courtney Smith 10/21/2022 2:09 PMI donate food because it is a basic necessity that everyone must have. I have been in the situation of not having the means to purchase my own food in the past. It is a terrible feeling, but it brought me hope that there are many people who donate food to help others when they need it most. Now that I am in a better spot in my life, it only feels right to pass on that hope to more people.-
Mary Hanks 10/23/2022 2:36 PMCourtney, thank you for donating. As a volunteer at a food pantry, I learned that most of the people we served were working multiple jobs and still needed help. With inflation increasing in much of the world, I know more and more people with be having a hard time feeding their families. Thank goodness there are folks like you!

REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Weekly Meal PlanningAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Courtney Smith 10/09/2022 4:47 PMIt doesn't surprise me at all. I utilize meal planning strategies to reduce the amount of food wasted in my household. I would rather use this money on family trips and activities!
