I noticed the chill in the air as we transition to the fall. The sun is setting ever earlier and earlier. I observed the way my hammock swayed as I read books under the pockets of sun shining through the thick expanse of storm clouds.

REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Pierce Smith 10/13/2025 3:34 PM
I agree with Berry in terms that it’s a celebration, something special. I think it is an integral experience to be more connected to the earth. There are no worries during these times, just solely appreciation for another day, or reflecting on the past. Admiring the beauty that so often gets overlooked but presents itself everyday to everyone. It is special.
