Waste
Go Paperless
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 3.4lbs (1.5kg) a month or 41lbs (18.6kg) a year by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day.
Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will shop at a farmers market or food co-op to support local farmers and businesses. By doing so, I may be able to learn more about who produces the food I eat and goods I buy.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 3 meatless meals and/or 1 vegan meals each day this week.
Simplicity
Disconnect from Email
I will only check my email during work hours, using my personal time for endeavors that help me live out my values.
Community
Volunteer in My Community
I will volunteer 20 hours in my community during the challenge.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 20 minutes each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Transportation
Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
I will spend at least 60 minutes researching and weighing my options to see if a hybrid or electric vehicle makes sense for my lifestyle.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Cody Snipes 10/03/2024 1:20 PMI actually don't have to find myself in this position often. I switched to reusable bags a a few years ago because at the time I was living in California and they started charging for disposable bags. So switching over seemed like a no brainer!-
Alison Perreault 10/03/2024 3:16 PMI always have bags in my car, but my husband doesn't. If we stop when he is driving, I just take the shopping cart out to the truck and load everything into the backseat and have the kiddos help unload when we get home.
I also keep a reusable bag in my laptop bag, in case I need to grab something while at work.

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go for a Daily WalkFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Cody Snipes 10/02/2024 8:20 AMAdding a 20 minute cooldown walk to my run every day has allowed me time I feel I normally don't grant myself, to both reflect and disconnect from the go-go-go of the everyday. Just being able to ground myself has made me show up in a more composed and thoughtful way.
