REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterWhat did you notice about your habits or routines when limiting your showers to five minutes? What changes — if any — do you think you’ll continue long-term?
Piper Thompson 10/13/2025 4:43 PMI noticed I don't have time to shave, do my full haircare routine, and wash my face. I changed my routine to wash my body and shampoo my hair. This will not continue long-term due to my stubbornness to give up my routine or rush through my routine. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
Piper Thompson 10/13/2025 4:39 PMI've noticed that when I go to the store to get one or two groceries, I somehow end up buying a couple extra things or the most expensive organic option. Alongside that, I spend $30-40 on coffee every month. This is tricky because sometimes it's a social meeting, other times it's an afternoon pick-me-up. I am inclined to shift my coffee allowance to $20/month to allow for a social meet-up or the occasional afternoon treat and to try to limit store runs during the week.-

I know what you mean about going to the store for two things and ending up with a lot more. LOL

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Piper Thompson 10/13/2025 4:34 PMI want to spend more time reflecting on what brings me purpose, specifically in my personal life and career. I just want to better understand the joy and fulfillment that come from certain jobs, relationships, and activities. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIf you were to only eat what is in season locally from now on, what would be the most difficult food item for you to give up? Why?
Piper Thompson 10/13/2025 4:34 PMThe most difficult foods to give would be raspberries, cucumbers, and potatoes. Raspberries are my favorite berry to add to yogurt bowls and snack on. Potatoes are a great carbohydrate source, and I love French fries. And lastly, cucumbers are one of my favorite vegetables to add to rice bowls. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Piper Thompson 10/13/2025 4:33 PMCreativity helps you reduce your purchasing habits when you think you don't have everything you need. For example, you don't need paper towels; you just need an old t-shirt that can be cut into rag-size portions to wipe down your counters. Creativity is a great way to solve your problems without buying more; you get to reduce buying new items and reuse or upcycle your existing items.
