Each of us has a water footprint, directly linked to our daily activities as well as the water required in the production of things we use each day. Understanding our water use is important for a healthy planet. I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste, then share what I learned on the feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhere in your life do you emit the most carbon? What change are you willing to make in your daily life to reduce this output?
Theo Thompson 10/01/2025 3:56 PMTransportation is where I emit the most carbon. I walk and use public transportation whenever I can. Neither biking nor getting a different car are options for me right now. We use my partner's car (a hybrid) for any longer drives we have to do and I use their car instead of mine when that's feasible. We hardly ever fly anywhere, we take the train, and I minimize driving as much as I can through carpooling, accessing things remotely, doing activities near where I live, walking, and taking the bus. Unfortunately, I just can't afford to replace my paid off ancient beater that gets terrible mpg. This part of my footprint is also large because my partner's job requires a lot of driving. We got a hybrid for that reason (at the time full EVs were out of our budget). I would be willing to change more if I can figure out how.
