Today our team created 30 bags of bird seed and deer corn and an apple to give to our congregation so they could share it with wild animals in their neighborhoods. Our team did this outside at a picnic table and later in the day I spread my bag about my front yard, which is woods.

What did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and/or touch?

I listened through the point where the woods' sounds changed from only crickets and insects to birds as well.

I love listening to nature. I bet the sounds of the woods were a great way to relax!

Kathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?

I hate the phrase moral obligation. It doesn't exist. No one is obligated. Period. And morals are declared by the person espousing them. They are not static. But gratitude does lead to more appreciation which is a higher vibration and that
brings in even more... and we Earth beings flourish!

This is a perfect day to be outside in my backyard, full of the woods and birds and my dog at my feet. I can see the leaves falling. And I realize, as much as I love summer, autumn has arrived. We're ten days into it. I watch the shadows play on the green leaves and the brown ground. I know that in 2 months this will all be brown,
Which can make me sad. But then I remember february will start the greening from the bottom up. So i promised myself to try to enjoy this change and know that nothing stays the same except, maybe, love.
