Amelia Uryga 10/05/2025 2:41 PMThis past week I was able to take a trip to Colorado to visit the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheater.
We did have to take a plane to get there, but traveled sustainably while on the ground. The train from the airport to our hotel was about 45 minutes and we opted to do that instead of taking an uber. We either walked or took buses/trains for our entire time in Colorado. I wish I had remembered to check all those tasks in while we were there, haha!
When we went to Red Rocks, we bought into a 30-person shared bus trip. It was really cool to have the experience of meeting so many people visiting the same place and opting to rent a massive, pooled rideshare, together, over the more convenient, quicker option of simply driving or taking a private car. I didn't even know about the ecochallenge yet when we planned this months ago, so it's pretty amazing to think about now!
The experience of seeing Red Rocks in person is really amazing. I highly suggest visiting to anyone who is even somewhat interested in either hiking or live music! The rock formation is considered a 'natural amphitheater,' and there are very few places like it in the world. It's a really amazing place, with some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. I've added a photo of the view (though it is unfortunately not my photo, I was too awestruck to remember to take my own pictures.) just to explain what I mean, but pictures REALLY don't do it justice. Wow!
