Luke's actions
Nature
Explore a New Trail or Nature Walk
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Simplicity
Reflect on My Needs Versus Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Food
Practice Zero-Waste Cooking
Food waste hurts our planet and our communities. I will cook 2 meals with zero waste each day.
Health
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 45 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Water
Take 5-Minute Showers
I will save up to 6 gallons (23 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Waste
Visit a Local Recycling Center, Landfill, or Transfer Station
Seeing where waste goes can change how we think about what we throw away. I will visit a local facility to learn more about the waste stream in my community and share what I learn with others and in the feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?
Luke Wagner 10/13/2025 4:15 PMWhen exercising I felt more focused on the workout at hand and forgot about the stress I may have had with homework or anything else. The activity I enjoyed the most was either Incline chest press or hammer curls. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for using every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable (including the skins, tops, stalks, etc.) during your next meal prep?
Luke Wagner 10/13/2025 4:10 PMWhen thinking about ways I could incorporate an entire vegetable into my meal prep there are a couple things that come to mind. One idea that I had would be to slice a squash and cook it with a fish filet and butter. By slicing the squash and cooking it with the fish I can use the whole squash with the meal and avoid having and waste from such.
