Kanyakorn's actions
Enacting Equity
Research Indigenous & First Nations Communities
I will spend 60 learning about the past and present indigenous or first nation communities in my regions impacted by colonization, and what I can do to be supportive.
Regenerating Nature
Support Local Pollinators
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 30 minutes researching which plants support local pollinators and plant a few in my area.
Enacting Equity
Shop at BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Disabled, & Women-Led Businesses!
I will shop at a small business owned or staffed by underrepresented members of my community.
Balancing Consumption
Reduce Social Media Use
I will use my social media only once per day.
Balancing Consumption
Needs Vs. Wants
Each day, I will practice a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Nourishing Food
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
I will watch 2 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Nourishing Food
Compost Food Scraps
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill per day by composting my food.
Cultivating Communities
Use Muscle Power & Alternative Ways to Travel
Each day when I don't need to travel by car, I will use muscle-powered transportation and other alternative forms (e.g., walking, biking, car share, public transit, etc.).
Regenerating Nature
Volunteer in My Community
I will volunteer 6 hour(s) for a nature-based event or another opportunity to support my community.
Nourishing Food
Eat Plant-Based Meals
I will enjoy 1 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCultivating Communities Use Muscle Power & Alternative Ways to TravelHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Kanyakorn Waree 10/06/2022 4:14 PMI have started biking as an alternative to driving a car. if I have to go somewhere nearby or under 5 miles, I will walk/bike. it gives me the chance to talk with people in my community and I can stop to admire the nature on the side of the road. Also great alternatives for exercise! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Compost Food ScrapsAs you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Kanyakorn Waree 10/06/2022 4:08 PMI've noticed how much organic waste I've prevented to go into the landfill instead I started collecting them to put into my compost bin. it's very nourishing to the plants and soil. I use it in my garden.
