Sarah williams 10/03/2024 3:45 PMToday I joined a meeting discussing the Quaker peace testimony. I learnt how important it is to connect with our feelings - not to dismisses them, deny them, or put them on others. It's ok to feel angry, for example, but not ok to direct that at someone. Friends shared how they had felt when they had experienced violence against them / those they loved and how they had found peace by bringing more love into the situation. It is fear that leads to violence. How can you bring more love into a situation of conflict and fear? Peace in the world starts with me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Practice Gratitude for EarthKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Sarah williams 10/02/2024 12:03 PMI don't know about a sense of moral obligation. I think we activily care / protect / fight for the things we love and care for. When I recognise how lucky I am to live where I live, and blessed with the senses I have to enjoy those surroundings, I feel happier, humbled, grateful and more connected. -
Sarah williams 10/01/2024 4:07 AMHi, I'm joining the community team. Thought I did a fair bit already but the different challenges are a great reminder that we can always do more. Love that this is about habit building too!
