REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn It OffHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Nicole Woodfill 10/18/2024 6:04 AMWe have a lot of hydro, that impacts our fish as well as how we allocate and release water for irrigation downstream. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Adjust the ThermostatYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Nicole Woodfill 10/18/2024 6:02 AMI've heard of people doing a check around their house for items that are plugged in and passively using electricity but could be unplugged. I'll look for those this weekend. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer During My Local ElectionWhy do you volunteer during elections? What meaning does it give to your civic life?
Nicole Woodfill 10/10/2024 7:50 AMFor me, it's important to support local candidates that support areas where I want to see change. I'm volunteering to canvas to help better inform other voters of what they stand for, Local elections don't usually have a high voter turnout and I feel it's important for people to understand the issues that directly impact them and their community.-
Jeanne Poirier 10/10/2024 7:59 PMCan't tell if you hale from Oregon or Washington - if Washington (like me) the 4 initiatives are as huge if not more than the candidates. Truly important election - I'm voting no on all of them! "Defend Washington" from big money.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Heat and Cool NaturallyWhat are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?
Nicole Woodfill 10/10/2024 7:46 AMI'm considering adding cold frames to my garden to extend the growing season for more vegetables.-
Olena Sytar 10/31/2024 5:34 PMAmazing idea! I also love gardening and that's a good way of using the power of sun.

Nicole Woodfill 10/03/2024 9:26 AMConsider more moderate office building cooling during the summer. Cooling the building to a slightly warmer temperature would reduce the air conditioning usage. -
