BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

I often am able to do both since most of my exercising is spent outside on my bike - and I ride socially at least once every week or two with a group of friends that bike. :)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Calculate My Water Footprint
How does your view on water consumption change after completing this action?

    Your water footprint:

    Personal:
    1,489 Gallons/Day

    US Average: 1,802 Gallons/Day

I think this wasn't entirely accurate - while all my electric comes from a supplier, I do choose a renewable supplier so it seems like I'm not capturing that? However, I do recognize I can be more efficient and choose to eat less meat and shorten my showers to do even better on water usage. I've made a lot of progress and my monthly water bill reflects that, but I like to strive for even better. :)

I worked on sorting through clutter that has accumulated on my dining room table.

Reminds me growing up how every Saturday we had to clear out the clutter on the dining room table - and not just put it on the stairs! I do so much better now after 65+ years of practice!!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose Clean/Renewable Energy
How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?

Technically I didn't shift because we already purchase clean energy but it is of great importance to us. I know we use a lot of energy with our appliances and heating/cooling so buying clean is good.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Sign Up to Vote
Why is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?

Voting requires reflection on what issues matter to us as individuals and also requires research to understand which politicians support our values and interests. Voting helps me feel like I am being active in how I approach climate change.

Excited to challenge myself this month!

I've chosen a few actions that I've been meaning to do, but haven't made the time. I hope this challenge pushes me to do them! One that I think will be fun is "explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area."

      How about you?

Me too! Is there anything new you're trying that you're excited about?
