I had fun trying things I have not done before - chair yoga, pilates, dance cardio. I enjoyed flipping through all of the YouTube exercise video options there are the most - lots of variety and different personalities and ways to move around..

I love dance cardio and pilates (I sometimes mix the two, giving a few minutes of cardio, then a few pilates...). I'll have to try chair yoga - that sounds interesting!

Will be making pumpkin pie out of my Halloween pumpkins rather than letting them rot and throwing them away.

I've seen many people also do this.. as well as during the carving process they bake the seeds too. The other thing that people do with their pumpkins is donate them to farms around us for the animals. :)

Encourage my friends to volunteer in our community. I can start a Volunteer group chat and send out volunteer options and info. This will help our community.

Showing kindness and gratitude doesn't cost anything, and it goes such a long way! I would say the ROI is somewhat immeasurable =)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

It was amazing how much more gets done when not staring at a phone or television. Spent most of the time out in the yard in the fresh air. This winter will turn to inside things like tidying up closets and getting rid of things that are being kept for "just in case" :-)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Gravelly Lake and Puget Sound are the nearest fresh and salt-water bodies of water.

North Tacoma and the west slope were affected by the Ruston Asarco mill for 100 years until the late 80's when it sat idle. Over the past 30 years, soil reclamation and redevelopment have made the entire area much more environmentally friendly, with Point Definance Park and miles of trails as the crown jewel.
