Understanding the distinction between a need and a want has helped me be more mindful about the items I purchase. I now take into consideration the potential waste impact an item I want will have on the planet.

Limiting my shower time to five minutes has been difficult because I usually take 30 minutes. To save water, I turn off the water when I do not need it.

Taking shorter showers is a hard thing to do. My average shower time was around 10 min, and now I have gotten it down to around 7 min. The goal is to reach 5 min per shower. To save water I have also kept a bucket in the shower to collect water

I've been trying to cut down of screen time in general, but with this eco challenge we're doing I've been more motivated and now I've been pretty consistent with replacing about 30 mins of screen time with drawing in my sketchbook, I hope to increase that time moving forward though.

Small changes in habits and mindfulness in one’s daily actions can cause a significant difference in consumption of single use products. Energy, time, and food consumption can decrease if we just pay a little more attention to what we consume

Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?

Eating healthy is a preferred way to spend money for me. I would rather an apple orchard farmer receive my voting dollars than my doctor.

Simplicity Go for a Daily Walk
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

It is a relaxing experience to do especially after a day of class and a good way to clear my mind and relax.
