October 7 at 11:15 AMLuckily my region is not heavily affected by severe weather, but seeing how the current hurricane is affecting areas should be a wake-up call for many about how climate change can impact weather and affect water access.

October 6 at 11:08 AMI choose to do the ecochallenge to try and instill sustainable habits within myself and others. Use this opportunity to tell a friend about ecochallenge or recommend a way they could be more sustainable.

October 4 at 12:41 PMI walked to my university's solar fields to see where our grazing sheep roam. Learning more about the my university's sustainable initiatives is important to be well informed, and I had a nice walk!

October 4 at 12:37 PMIt is important to realize that being sustainable doesn't always mean doing the most, sometimes it is just doing your best. This morning I was running behind and unable to grab my reusable cup for coffee, but Starbuck's hot beverage cups are paper-based with a recyclable white lid. October 3 at 8:07 PMDay 3: Ecochallenge has really been a positive addition to my day. Even walking around campus, I feel like I take note of changes that I could make to my daily life to be more sustainable and enjoy nature, even on a smaller scale.

October 3 at 11:59 AMEspecially on campus, this energy choice is such an easy one to make. Just pressing the washing machine's cold water button can make a small difference that adds up over time.

October 3 at 8:58 AMI didn't think I consumed as much water as I did. My result was 1,592 Gallons/Day, which is slightly under the United States average of 1,802 Gallons/Day. A large chunk of that came from how much meat I eat, which was particularly interesting to me.

October 2 at 8:48 AMDay 2: Ecochallenge is a great way to start making tangible improvements for the sustainability of the Earth. I find that even just being a part of this challenge makes me more cognizant of all choices I make, not just those that are a part of the challenge. I plan to make this mindfulness continue throughout the challenge.

October 2 at 6:38 AMVoting is a great way to show your support for sustainable initiatives that could make a real difference. This year is incredibly important for voting, so make sure to get out there on election day and cast your ballot! Also, be sure to keep in the loop of local sustainable policy within your community or university.

October 2 at 5:41 AMDay 2 on the health track! I picked really attainable goals - because I’ve never been great at follow through. I’m excited because I think 5 more minutes of exercise and 1 more serving of fruit a day is something I will actually do - and hopefully continue after ecochallenge!
