    Transportation
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

My next car will definitely be an electric vehicle. Eliminating exhaust emissions is obviously a big one, but I think it's important to normalize electric vehicles for my kids.

Went on a walk with friends and picked up 20lbs of trash while walking! Recycled as much as we could!

A friend was wanting to get a yoga mat, so I gave him an extra one I had at home! Glad it’s getting used and that a new one didn’t need to be purchased!

I love this concept. It’s a wonderful way to share tools and resources. I did this with my kitchen stuff. Whenever a friend said they needed to go buy a 9x13 casserole or anything else I had multiples of, I would ask them if they wanted my extra one. It was a win-win!

    Nature
Rachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?

I love spending time outside, it helps me feel connected with nature. Witnessing all the changes through the seasons is amazing, getting to see different plants grow, bloom, thrive, is far more rewarding than spending time indoors. Also, by experiencing nature we can truly see the impact of our actions.

Rachel Carson's sentiment rings true for me. We are seeing the implications of a culture that spends most of our time indoors, loneliness, disconnection and depression. The distractions and noise we are bombarded with every day is a lot to cut through to get back to nature. Once I am there, everything else melts away and I can hear my own thoughts, see the beautiful mysteries of nature that delight and entertain and breathe calm.

    Waste
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

I have started to re use the same insulated water bottle every day. I just fill it up before work with my filtered water then re fill it at work several times a day. It was an easy switch!

I simply don't understand why people use so much bottled water in situations where it isn't really needed. I volunteer at a retirement home, and I'd see my friends cracking open a new bottle every afternoon. I finally asked them why, since each bottle contributes to the plastics problem...and it turned out that had never even crossed their minds. It's an upscale facility, and the residents are used to convenience. Now some of them say they're reusing water bottles. I hope they're telling the truth and not just humoring me. :)

    Water
What did you notice about your habits or routines when limiting your showers to five minutes? What changes — if any — do you think you’ll continue long-term?

What a beautiful picture! This park looks serene. Like a place to sit at for hours—reading, day dreaming, or journaling. A picnic would be wonderful too.

I needed to pick up a birthday present and walked to the store instead of driving. We also decided to craft a card out of paper, markers and sparkly things that we had on hand instead of buying new.
